Ergophobia is a 3D horror game set in a run down office building, haunted by a terrifying monster that lurks and crawls through its eerie hallways.
I developed this game using the Unity game engine as part of a college assignment for my course. The project primarily served as a main menu demo, designed to showcase my skills in sound, visual, and interactivity design.
One of the biggest challenges I faced was mastering Unity's lighting system, as this was my first experience working with it. However, this project provided an excellent opportunity to learn and significantly enhance the visuals beyond the default render pipeline. On the other hand, I thoroughly enjoyed designing the audio for the game, which I aimed to make immersive and of high quality. While I initially set out to create all the audio assets myself, tight deadlines forced me to rely on two external sources for sound effects.
Despite these challenges and some compromises near the end, I am proud of the final result. I believe I delivered a polished and interactive main menu with strong lighting and solid sound design. Over the six weeks allocated for this project, I gained valuable insights into various aspects of game development. I look forward to applying this knowledge to future projects, continuing to refine and expand my skills in creating immersive game experiences.
